Yeah, I know. They suck now. But I think Van Hagar would still be an improvement over the recent BS. Of course the classic VH lineup would be best, but that just ain't gonna happen.

I saw VH3 and i never liked Exteeme i thought the show was great better than i expected but the real van halen ok wow cool.

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to hang out with Eddie at a low key Italian restaurant in the San Fernando Valley... No way will he be playing live anywhere - any time soon! He was totally in another world. All he could really talk about was how he basically hides away all day and all night in his 30 million dollar studio, playing guitar and classical piano enjoying the fact that he has tons and tons of new material that he keeps all to himself. He really had a fuck the world kind of attitude. Not to say he was an asshole. He was just really high and seemed very uncomfortable with anyone idolizing him. He told me that it takes three hours just for him to warm up. Then by the fifth hour of guitar madness he forgets about who he is and what he?s doing and just goes into another zone where he?s completely detached from reality. He seemed to have a hard time being that good. He explained that he never looks into a mirror. It?s easier if he doesn?t have to see himself.

Anyway, that was an amazing night. Sitting around a dinner table getting drunk listening to one of the most innovative musical geniuses of all time. He was totally intense and very real? Then all of a sudden he stood up, shoved the entire bottle of wine in his pocket, popped a cigarette in his mouth, shook everyone?s hand and split?

Will he be playing during half time tomorrow? I wouldn?t hold my breath?

No, it wasnt Gaetano's... This was closer to Noth Hollywood. When the owner of the resturant came to the table Eddie invited him back to the studio... Man didi I want to be included! But no such luck. Maybe next time he said. After Eddie left, the owner of the restaurant was telling me what it's like to hang out at Eddie's house/studio - He said it was the most mind blowing experience of his life. Eddie is totally out of control musically. The band played non stop all night... Hours and hours of Van Halen music the world has never heard...

It would be nice to see them play superbowl but i doubt eddie is in the frame of mind to play, I saw him at NAMM he got up to play at the peavey booth and it was evident that he was incapable of playing that day. Seemed that he had a bit too much to drink/smoke whatever.
