file splitter for wmv for clips, what's best?

i've been using VCDcutter for mpg files.

    it won't cut wmv files.

is there a comparable utility to split a long wmv into equal clips?

    advice pls.

    thanks.

Yeah the boilsoft one is good. I tried another one but in the end the boilsoft one seems to do the better job.

Can one of you Boilsoft users tell me if it will take a large file and batch it into a specified amount of smaller ones?

                  Thanks in advance,

THANK YOU... I have been looking for something that works so smooth.

I just downloaded it. Is that only a trial with limitied tools or do you get more options if you buy it? I can not find any info on that.

                    Thanks.

                      What about loss of quality?

yes, clips a long wmv into however many smaller same size clips you want, does not re-encode so no quality loss.

apparently it can also make custom sized clips with your specified start and end points, and has a player.

been using it all day today. many thanks for the tip!

you know i've been doing lots of testing, for a given file size i can't find anything that will beat wmv image quality, so i think i'm going to move away from mpg1 and go strictly wmv.

and the free win2000 encoder works pretty darn good---it's 2 pass system is giving me really nice stuff at about 2.75mb per minute---same quality with mpg1 would be about 4.5mb per minute.

makin' a believer out of me.

When I use Easy VIdeo Splitter, I get this stupid error, everytime I chop up a WMV format, it freeze for the first 2-5 seconds in the beginning of the movie, then after that the clips started playing again. Anyone know why it does that?

Easy Video Splitter seems a little buggy. Also it doesn't cut up MPEG-2. Try the Boilsoft software...
