this has happened before here in canada a couple of times. After a foot chase in ottawa, the cop was out of breath, shaking from running, and jolted his own gun.
The other one I think was after a wrestling match with a drunk suspect. (can't remember where this was other then out west somewhere. Maybe edmonton)
