    Pennywize or ProxyPass?

Looking into paysite security. Any comments on which of these you'd go with. My concerns include...

    -Brute Force Attacks
    -Password Trading
    -Bandwidth Leaching

Any input on this topic would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pennywize has all those covered, and you can try it for free.

    Top product!
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Both do the job well. You may also want to take a look at http://www.stopthathacker.com

Does it all. And does it well. Has been around for over 7 years.

PJ - Pennywize is the go. We have them on our paysites. Pennywize is used on thousands of other paysites.

                  We've never had an issue.

Steve & the team looked after us. Great Pricing too.

I use ProxyPass and I'm very happy with it.
                    And their support is great.

Pennywize will stop multiple users but in my experience it is not deterring brute force very well.

No matter what I set it to I can't get it to block a proxy used in a brute force attack for more than 10 minutes. If the guy has a big proxy list, or is hacking slowly they will get valid tries.

Really you want to set it to block an IP for an hour or so after 3 tries.

I have Pennywize on all my sites and still get passes hacked and posted on ultrapasswords. It stops the amateurs but not the dedicated hackers.

If anyone has got it working well please give me a hand with the settings.

We have the same problem with Pennywize.

This is getting on my nerves, REALLY bad...

I think I'm gonna install 3 of these scripts to make sure I don't ever email a customer again to say we had to change his password.

if you really wanna stop brute force attacks and the like www.arces.net has an awsome hardware for it.
it acts as a firewall so that your webserver will never see those packets hence you will not be taking up any bandwith.
