You guys got your expectations up way too high. Imagine Matrix Reloaded being the first Matrix movie. You'd be amazed.
This is a plot driven story and it is a series - obviously they're not going to give away anything, and of course they're going to want you wanting to see the next one.
Matrix Reloaded is a link to the end, an inbetween section, it's a stepping stone. You learn things you'd need to know. Though it does open up even more "worms" in my mind.
Go see it.
