I will have a good day. Like I said, I like his work but look at the pics posted...can the camera really do a hack job without knowing?
      Yes, it can.

Good picture and good girl Aaron. She looks sultry.

Fill in flash gives you control in an outdoor setting, properly used it's fantastic. but it's very hard to master. I can't do it.

She doesn't look like she's having any fun...which is too bad...cuz she's cute. She'd look a lot cuter if she looked like she was enjoying herself.

No Paul, he probably does not use a hand held meter.
I use one indoors in Manual mode but outdoors I thought I'd take advantage of the camera's built-in metering program since lighiting would be changing greatly from shot to shot (much less control over light than indoors), and since I wanted to get as many shots as possible under these difficult circumstances. I've only had to totally reject 2 or 3 shots (out of 290) for exposure problems. A few more are marginal (unacceptable noise and breaking up in shadow areas). Since I'm selling pics in sets, it's important to get a lot of photos out of the model's time, not 10 or 20 absolutely perfect photos.

I think I will aslo interject and say that along with Aaron I have heard many many stories of your "professionalism" or lack there of.

Try keeping your shirt on during shoots. Wear underwear so the wet spot on your crotch is not as noticable. Quit asking your models out for dinner and wine especially the minors. Have a little class when speaking with your models.

I can go on but why bother?

None of that is worthy of a serious response, but...

If I took a shirt off during a shoot, it was after asking the model if it was okay. At that time I was living in a non-air conditioned apartment.

I always wear underwear. The famous (and funny) "spot" incident happened a long time ago while taping two girls having sex, and any guy watching two girls have sex might experience a droplet at the wrong moment and not even realize what is happening (I didn't). This is no different morally from a girl getting a spot from menstruation, which no one would classify as a behavior or professionalism problem, but an acciident. I don't even remember which two girls were present, but it was good for a laugh by all at the time, and I seriously doubt if the girl passed it along as anything but a funny story, but if she is, I need to have a talk with her.

I don't like eating alone and I will invite a girl to dinner before or after a shoot only socially and to get to know her better. No pressure EVER. I have never asked a girl to come back to the room unless it was to do a shoot, and then nothing ever happens (EVER) but the shoot.

Any photographer that doesn't have meaningless crap like that being passed around about him hasn't been shooting for long. I've shot over 200 girls by now. I'd be surprised of none of them had a story about me. I know I've irritated several, but few of us could work with 200 people under ANY circumstance and not irritate several.

I think you'll agree bracketing the fill would help greatly, which maybe I should do in outdoor situations, come to think of it. I'm still behaving as though I'm shooting on film. Bracketing with a digital camera is much less expensive, assuming you have plenty of memory.

Two reasons, with fill in flash you are less likely blast out the natural light, you just want to soften the shadows enough to show everything. Also less likely to let light in front of you into your lens, which makes the pictures look out of focus. If you want a softer effect do it in Photoshop or use a diffuser filter.

But the D100 rocks doesn't it. I prefer it to the D1X. That mother cost a bomb.

I love the filter you put on the water at the bottom to the left of the girl and those bubbles you added at the top on the same side. It really makes the water pop, and it's not over done.

If everything you do is so innocent then why do I and so many other local people hear so much shit about you? If the wet spot stories [plural] are what you say then why have I heard it from more than a couple of girls?

Give all of the excuses that you want. There are severel other photographers in town and I hear good things about everybody but you and some guy named Gary. Last year there was a company named Sharp Studios that was shooting in Portland. From my understanding they shot 100 to 150 girls last year alone. Every model that I spoke to about them has raved about the guy named Kell and a lot of these same models complain about you and how you creeped them out.

I think Kell posts here. I would love to see his input.

It's not over done because there are ZERO filters being used. The only altering that image has seen is the added logo and some compression.

IMO, Kel is probably the most professional Internet photographer in Portland. I personally know the guy and the way he treats people in general, not just models. Kel is a class act all the way.

Yes it helps, over expose by one stop the background and do not shoot into the light.

It's funny what you can get away with, with different models, The skill is knowing where the girl draws the line and not crossing it.

Today Eva and I shot a three girl for a client. Two of the girls are very friendly towards Eva and I and the other is a little distant. The first two make it no secret that they like us and flirt openly with us, especially me because I flirt back.

We started the shoot with me directing and Eva shooting. The client likes to see the girls really kissing and not faking it. And the girls were no problem and no need to push them.

When Eva told them in Czech it looked hot, one of the girls asked me if it looked all right. I told them if they did it any better I was going to make it a 3 girl boy set. They laughed and dared me to join in.

After the shoot the two friendly girls came over to ask if I enjoyed watching them I said it made me erect watching them. Then the more distant one said with a smile "So we did it right"

Feeling sexy in a porno shoot is not going to put a girl off or dicourage her, it could make her feel good about herself. What will make her feel bad and uncomfortable is a shooter being pervy about it or making the girl think she HAS to have sex with him or her.

So you had someone blowing bubbles into the water fall?
and the glass layering on the water is unbelievable... I have seen that effect when the ocean is over lapping itself but in a pool I would think that would be hard to reproduce...

It's a picture of a girl in a hottub with a waterfall flowing into it. No bubbles being blown, no special filters. That is the water as it was flowing. What would I gain by lying about this?

That waterfall looks familiar! Viva Vegas perhaps?

I don't know Unseen well enough to make an accurate asessment of his professionalism toward models, and I haven't crossed paths too many times, but I must admit the time we have have crossed they were pretty damn negative. "thats about all I got to say about that"

Unseenworld, my apologies, I am too much into the internet and Photoshop. Three professional photographers looked at your work (outside of this forum) and said while my comment seemed appropriate, taking a real picture and compressing them down to the net will show up as a flaws. . .

Next time you post make them the size of AaronM pic. All three told me that was one good shot of the bubble bath pic. (quote by one, amazing does he shoot mainstream?)

Hiding, I because I feel stupid.

In the far back right of the pic, just above her shoulder, you can see bubbles of the same size piled up. It most be from the chemicals in the tub. The waterfall and tub were turned off until just before that set was shot. Those are bubbles that settled in the filter system and are just getting kicked out from the flow.
