Put it into perspective:
#1: That's not alot of time for anything.
#2: It's certainly not alot of time for a business that changes dramatically on virtually a weekly (if not daily) basis.
I remember when computers didn't exist. There were no fucking computers when I was in school. There was no fucking Internet. We used keypunch cards for fucks sake. And THAT was state of the art!
This shit is every bit of the phrase, "in its infancy".
Let the old timers brag it up about how they "pioneered" all this shit.... whatever gives someone a sense of self-worth & importance.... doesn't much matter in the long run. The fact is, less than ten years is truly, nothing.
