i feel your pain. kinda.

i've been a professional designer since '89. the repugnant shite that passes for design in this industry is incredible. spectacularly jacked up media. my favorite is the print work. damn. i almost get a fucking seizure looking through avn or avnonline.

but your comment about the "Click Here..." crap might be misguided. i've had to make stupid looking shit my whole career. i let go of it a long time ago. that "Click Here..." text is probably at the client's request. i can't tell you how many great designs i've mangled for dumb-ass clients. they fail to realize that the reason they hired me is because i'm the designer, not them - if i choose a font or color it's for a reason. i've done my best to explain color theory to as many people as possible. the rainbow is in the same order every time 'cause that's the visible light spectrum. no way around it.

i'm going on my own again after next week. i plan to do a large amount of adult design along with some mainstream. i'm going to charge what the work is worth and i'm going to do my best to raise the bar and get more good design out there in spankville.
