lots of providers have caps these days, bell sympatico has a cap of like 6 gigs per month i heard, which is total shit. i can download that much in a month with 56k. luckily there is no cap on my dsl, i download a gig a day usually.

i think its used more to stop people from going nuts on kazaa or movie trading.

Doood, back when Videotron was in Edmonton it was 2 gigs down, 1 gig up, $50/gig overuseage. Currently with my ISP it is 15 gigs combined, $5/gig overuseage. Just don't download too many movies and you will be fine. You have to know as well as everything else that bandwidth is expensive and bandwidth is canada is 3-50x more expensive then the US, depending on where you are.

I'm just coming back reading the Mastercard vs Epoch thread, and you are acting exactly like members that ask for a refund or chargeback after 1 month of using the product.

I wish all internet provider put limits (It's COMING)... I hate these Korean motherfuckers buying a membership and leeching 1.5 gig in 45 minutes. In one month, they download your entire 300+ GIGs paysite and leave you with a bill of $90 to pay (300 x .40 per gig = $120 - $30 monthly membership)

If you want to abuse, then pay. Bandwitdh = $$$

well, high speed access is known for being cheap in canada. videotron subscribers pay $39.95 CAD which is about $28 USD. but we gotta deal with the caps. it sucks

bdjuf, i think there's a maximum to what they charge you per month. i think it's not more than $100 or something like that. i'm trying to find something on their site to back it up though.

I remeber when videotron didn't check ur downloads.. I was doing about 2 gigs a day... now, I try to hardly use my connection for other than work, and that's still more than 10 gigs
