It's not like us 'shitheads' aren't already paying the bills by viewing (and clicking) the existing banner ads.
But those popup flash banners are the absolute worst.
A lot of big companies use them.. I think I've seen Amazon and maybe even Ebay do things like that. I cringe every time. I would rather be spammed in email than have a big "takeover banner" come attacking me.
Apparently there is a hard to see "close" link on the top right by the girls hair tho. Having to refresh to get rid of it is a shame.
But IMO, popup flash banners like that are a slap in the face to your users.
Between the email to all GFY & Adult.com members and a "Sticky" topic I think it woudl have been more tasteful and gotten the point across just as well.
