    Telemarketing annoyance

Ok I'm done with it. They call me almost everyday now. I already have spoken with a manager of my telecom company and all they can do is give me a new phone number. It will cause me lots of extra work. The man who called me today was the limit. He even had the guts to call me back 2 more times! Best thing of it is that I now know where they are located.

Gimme some good ideas how I can fuck them back. I'm open for everything! The best idea will get you a free Freeones t-shirt.

I got one of those TeleZappers at Radio Shack about 6 months ago and I also have my phone number set to not allow calls from blocked numbers. Between the two things, it's cut down the telemarketing calls about 90%.

Do what I do: Say "hey, great, I'm very interested, just hang on a sec while I go turn the music down", then I just put down the phone (don't hang up) and carry on with what I'm doing. Ten minutes later I hang up (they've always given up by then)
I've been doing this for a while, and I seldom get telemarketing calls now.
        Converting like a mofo

          That is NO fun.

You have to have fun with them.

I remember once I got a call, the telemarketer was a lady with a deep southern accent, asked if my wife was home. I asked her who is calling, and she went head first into a sales pitch. I tried my best not to laugh, as I heard her struggle reading her sales pitch script, tripping on words and such. You can easily tell she had a hard time reading it. This was the longest sales pitch I have ever heard, and I was not even the one she wanted to speak with. After she was done, I asked her to repeat all that, since I didnt really hear it all since my radio was on. SHe paused for a few seconds, probably hating me to hell (along with her job), and she went full blast into the speech again... still tripping over words and such.

I let her finish again, and I ask her to repeat it again because I had the doorbell ring before and had to put down the fone, so I didnt hear what she just said again. Another long pause, and she went right at it, again. Mid-way through the pitch, I cut her off, and asked her, 'Wouldnt you rather have a job where people WANTED to speak with you, and didnt hang up on you?'. Before she could answer, I hung up.
