                      Go to:

                      Tools > Internet Options > Settings > View Objects

                      Right click on each icon and go to the properties. If it has any semblance to xxxtoolbar, delete it.

                          There is no Tools / Internet Options / Settings in my IE .. Am I stupid?

                          General / Security / Privacy / Content / Connections / Programs / Advanced are what I have.
