Haha, nope. Designers have taken nothing to another level. You obvioulsy haven't compared signups on simple, non graphical designs to slick ones.
As for why I have designers....
a) We sell designs. Gotta give the customers what they want.
b) Working on some paysites we may choose to have affiliates for. Most affiliates want slick.
Instead of saying how much better the artistic approach is why don't you try asking someone who has compared the numbers. Until then, keep living in your fantasy of your oh so wonderful designs taking the porn world to another level.
