How do you look for sponsors to promote? Ask other people you know on icq? Check with the boards to weed through the dozens of posts from sponsor reps pushing their own company? Go to resource sites to find listings?

but I realize that people like to hear from as many people as possible about a sponsor first just incase there are any horror stories too.
Thing is, 99% of the time when I see "spam me with..." all I see is sponsor reps posting their programs. No real opinions from people who've promoted them.Comment

also that affiliate program makes it easy to get webmaster referrals
someone goes to the site and looks at the sponsors and picks one and goes to "your referral link"
and you get a comission
all you have to do is enter in your referral codes into the db

i go to every resource site that has a good listing. i ask friends. i ask on boards. i read threads about sponsors. if i see a gallery i like, i go to the sponsor site to see if i like it. i check out board sigs.
other than that, i don't check around for sponsors at all

Try all sponsors till you figure out who makes you the most at the end of the day.
It's also good to contact a program before you send to see how they respond and help.Pornkings.comComment

Mostly from the boards. Then I look at their sites - if they don't appeal to me I don't bother... After taht I only send few clicks a day for 2-3 months - if I get good ratio I start sending some good traffic. I'm wierd, I know
