the reason you have them is because air went down the wrong pipe and the easy way to get over them is to force as many burps as possiable...that is why drink coke helps cause it adds more gas to help do a nice big ass burp and clear all the air out of ya stomach
works for me everytimeComment

Actually trying to get the sugar out of your mouth and down your throat causes you to keep from breathing long enough to usually stop them. Always was the best solution for my kids when they were young.Originally posted by Plat

A tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Drink it all.SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.Comment

What MCSteve said or cover a glass of water with a napkin or papertowel and drink the water through that. It makes you drink slow enough to make them stop.Come away, come away...Comment

actaully slow rythmic breathing should get it back on track.. the reason for hiccups in not so scientific terms is.. your diaphragm and another part of your body (not sure what part) always go in sync with one another when breathing.. when this (for whatever reason) is disrupted the diaphragm is not in sync anymore and is literally hitting the other body part .(why they hurt sometimes)...now off to watch some more discovery channel..lolComment

Get a big glass of water. Hold your nose while drinking the water. Drink as much as you can before you have to stop and breath. Make sure it is a big glass of water and you really try to hold your breath and drink for as long as you can. Works every time.Comment
