    new found respect for parents

    I'm watching a friend of mines two year old daughter for the weekend and the only time I've had to deal with kids is on a short term hourly basis..But once you have to wake them up,spend all day and PUT them to sleep you understand what kind of hell parent hood is...The most sad part about it is is that she's an angel and I haven't had to yell all day but I'm still fuckin stressed...
    How do you freaks do it? I was about to knock up my g/f soon but after this I don't think I could ever handle kids...even on a good day!

                          I am the oldest of a shitload of cousins and I spent a good portion of my childhood and teenage years babysitting fucking kids.

                          I would rather have a terminal illness than have children.

                          Why in gods name would you bring that upon yourself? Bring something into the world thats just gonna make your life a living hell. Eating your resources, dictating your time, and you want me to be responsible for it?

                          I cant beat it, I cant kill it, I have to live with it and bend to its will. Feed it, clothe it, make sure it doesnt die. Cant sell it. Just sit back and let it slowly kill you, like a terminal fucking disease.

                          I know people who havent had much exposure to children, and they think life is just gonna be peachy. You deserve the hell you make for yourself.

                              lol my daughter is 21 months and its hard! She never stops all day. She gets up at between 4:30 and 5:30 each morning and goes all day.

                              When its your own kids its different! Every baby is different so you never know what yours might be like.

                                      Maybe Ill never get married. I am certainly in no rush. I dont think you should be allowed to marry before the age of 30. Nor should you be able to have children before the age of 30. Too many idiots marrying other idiot at 18 to 25 and just creating more idiots.

                                                          I cant stand to be around kids.. it drives me fuckin nuts.. i look for any excuse to get away from kids. one time, I jumped in my car and left for 2 days because my cousin was coming over with her new baby.

                                                          Then i had a kid of my own. Some things changed.. its truely different when you have a kid of your own. I love my kid more than anything, hes just too damn cool. But i fuckin hate other kids.

                                                              i came close when i was still with my last gf. she was having some issues with the pill. came very close (had an appointment) but backed out at the last minute.

                                                              until recently, i would have told you there was no way i'd ever have kids. as in NEVER. i still don't want any, but i'm not quite so passionate about it anymore.

                                                                          I hated kids...until I had my own...now I'd do anything for them..they are the sole reason I probably haven't pumped a slug into my cold, dark brain...

                                                                                  Its true, the first 6 months are the worst. You get no sleep. Cleaning diapers. They shoot pee up in the air while you're changing them. They puke up food. Diarria leaks out of the diapers.

                                                                                  It was the grossest part. Then it starts to get better after the 2nd year. But you have to watch them like a hawk cause they can move around.

                                                                                  My sister has 6 kids, god bless her, one of her infants crawled outside a partially open patio door and went down the hill and into the lake. My sister was on the phone and thought he was on the living floor when she got off and she saw the door open and him floating face down in the pond behind their home and flipped out. Luckily he had just gone unconscious so the CPR revived him and he got to the hospital right away.

                                                                                  But yeh if you have kids you'll learn what life is all about real fast. Its the most frustrating, stressful thing you will ever experience in your life, yet its the most rewarding and fun at the same time.

                                                                                  I have one and would love to have one more, but got to find wife #3 first.

                                                                                      I did. I totally share your views on having children, and have as a reference the hell I put my parents through when I was young.
                                                                                      The snipping part is pretty easy, the recovery wasn't very nice...it feels like you've been kicked in the nuts once the anaesthetic wears off, and continues to feel like that for about 3 days. On the other hand, that's a small price to pay, in my opinion.

                                                                                                      The most I learned was that I wouldn't want to be without them, that holidays and get-togethers are nothing without them.

                                                                                                      That unless you want to die alone and live a boring life, you should have kids to make your life more colorful and interesting

                                                                                                          I'm one of the lucky ones I suppose. In 3 1/2 months she's puked so rarely I could count the times on one hand. Daipers have only leaked once. Girls make a puddle rather than shoot which is no prob. if you're quick changing them. She sleeps between 10-13 hours a night.

                                                                                                          On the never having them part it's been said but is no less true. Other people kids are a scary pain in the ass. Once you have your own though yours become the best thing since sliced bread Everyone elses stay a scary pain in the ass.

                                                                                                                  I got married for the 1st time and had my first kid at the age of 40. I'm glad I waited that long, now I have MUCH more patience.

                                                                                                                  I also got snipped about a year ago. It didn't hurt too much, sore for a few days. I just remember the nurse helping the doctor during the surgery was a hottie and it took all my self control not to make a joke about testing it out when the procedure was finished

                                                                                                                      But for some reason, you end up liking it. I think it's a loss of sanity that does it.
                                                                                                                      They really are different; my two are as different as night and day. One is a gentle, loving little old soul, and the other... well the other is just like me. LOL
