I wish T3 was out now, I'd rather see it.
let me know how it is plsss
i saw xmen on video and was surprised. the terminator series (well now trilogy) has always been one of my favs and the matrix i was blown away!
i rented videos last weekend and they had an entire wall, at bb, for the matrix and xmen. i was actually going to buy them but the prices were raised again so i shall wait
I'll post my personal review when I get back. Not too many people know this, but I'm really the guy that writes all the reviews for Roger Ebert.
They just let him do the talking because of his good looks.

heheheh! ebert reminds me of ernie from sesame st. but hey, if you get the $$ for it, then let him do all the talking he wants
you think? it looked good in the trailers but for some reason i got hollywood commercialism from it. then again, now that i think about it, i got the same feeling from t2 and that movie turned out to be good (would have been better without that annoying kid).

That "annoying kid" is an integral part of the plot.
Anyways, Matrix will rake in the most cash, but I'm gonna see all three.

no argument there. he was very important however, he was not a good choice to portray that part. his acting was subpar at best, in my opinion (they could have casted better).
in any event, i hope these movies are out by the end of the year on dvd (i'm not a theater person...god only knows what people do on those seats before i get to sit on them ;) ), cause i will have one hell of a winter to look forward to movie wise!

It was good. Better than the first one. Started out slow but once the action kicked in it was great.
It was nice to see the Wolverine character actually use his blades to impale and kill some people for once instead of just slashing away at the air.
There's a really cool scene where "Pyro", a kid that can control flame, started wasting some cops. I enjoyed that immensely.
Only thing I didn't like was the Nightcrawler character which they tried to use for some comic relief, with the worst German accent I've ever heard. Kinda like Jar Jar Binks, but not quite as offensive.
Pretty decent story and acting overall, as far as action movies go. It could have been a lot better if they would have gone for an R rating, with Wolverine severing heads and shit, but I guess that wouldn't be the smartest thing for them to do.
they all look good and i plan to see them all! I would guess the Matrix will rake in the most then T3 followed by X2.... I also think the Hulk will give X2 a run for its money!

thank you for such a thorough synopsis! i cant wait to see it now. really good movies take generally 6 mos to come out on video so by november i should be in good shape
Matrix simply because like the first one people will see it more than one time. That's how you get those box office grosses into larger than life numbers.
I refuse to answer since none of these movies will show up anytime soon in these cold parts of the world. Unless I choose to find a bootleg version on the net and ruin the movie with the shitty quality.
When I was in Florida last month I watched the trailers for all these new exciting movies but usually Sweden is lagging behind a few months in releasing new movies compared to US.. unless it's some special event like with one of the newer James Bond movies where it had grand opening at 0:07 the same date allover... at least as I understod it ;)
But ok, I'd guess on T3 actually.
X-Men 2 draws a younger crowd, Matrix 2 just feels like it won't surprise ya much.
T3 on the other hand is something that's lagging so far behind the previous movie that I think more people will take time to check it out just cause they remember T2 as such a hit, yet probably the general crowd don't remember enough details to figure out the next part.
My guess, I have absolutely no clue about this, I just wanted to guess too! ;)
Matrix 2 will probably make more money than X2 in the end because of hardcore fans who will watch it several times, but it's going to be pretty hard to beat what X2 is expected to make in it's first 3 days. X2 earned $33.9 million on Friday, and is expected to make $92+ million in it's first 3 days which would make it the 2 biggest opening weekend ever. Only spider-man made more in it's first weekend.

Saw X-2 they showed The Hulk trailer and the efx looked cheap.
i used to work in a cinema and I am a serious movie buff so I am always guessing which are going to be the hits. One of the tests I use is the 'london underground poster test' where I watch to see which posters people actually look at when they are on the underground. On Friday night we saw the Matrix posters on the underground for the first time and nearly everyone that walked past them made a comment to the person they were with or turned their head. There were X-men posters around but I didn't see anyone comment. Now, that could be because the posters were new and the X-men ones had been around for a while.
I haven't heard T-3 mentioned much over here yet so I don't know about that one.

Neat theory.
Those Matrix posters are really catchy, even though they are simple. Brings on the suspense by not showing the faces.

You are aware that X2 is going to have made about $85 million this weekend, right?

... and it took me 2 days to download through edonkey ... and when I started the file it worked out to be a 70´s porn movie ... damn, that really pissed me off !!
we are all in the wrong part of the entertainment business thats for sure.
i am the first one to pick up a movie or watch a ball game or buy a game for online or music cd (well maybe not the first person ) and if you really think about how much money we are putting into the pockets of actors, directors, singers, athletes...it's fairly frightening.
dont get me wrong, i love entertainment as much as the next person so what i am about to say may sound hypocritical. these people don't need to be paid 20 to 120mil for something that the average joe does on any given day.
if anything, i can respect the writers, editors and animators for bringing a movie together for completion. someone who says "i'll be back" doesnt really get my respect. know what i mean?
