SWAPBUCKS off to a BAD start ...

I opened my email tonight and find an email from swapbucks.

But ou have been removed from the network due to the renaming of content.

If you would like to be reinstated please respond here with a good reason.

WTF Ok where do i start.

First off , I never renamed any content and im not sure why or how that would benefit me ( i did delete a file that was sent to my system though called paris-hilton.pdf because i tried to open it and it said INVALID FILE or something, lots of the movies said the same message to ) The system is so confusing i wouldnt even know what to cheat if i tried. I saw files going up and down but when i logged in it said no % I couldnt even figure out what the hell you get paid for , im not sure what i would do to cheat LOL

Secondly, i was merely running the program as a review as i find programs that run in my background very annoying and consuming. So i never planned on using it to the point of getting paid ( trust me i dont need it LOL )

Thirdly if you wish to let me continue using the program you can take me right out of the PAID database if you so wish as im only interested in viewing it and seeing what the profit potential is. I could care less about the money ( well to a point i suppose ). I spoke with you about this idea long ago and i think its a genuine good idea if you ask me, DEF a bad way to start is by AXEING someone who was reviewing your program LOL

Fourth Do i win some sort of prize for being the first person kicked out of your program LOL

p.s. if your just out to scam people then you should do what the other sponsors do and wait till the webmaster at least builds up some cash to terminate him

Anyways if anyone is thinking of pushing this program i would wait to hear what they say because this sounds like a typical webmaster jack to me. I would be curious as to how they respond. You may just get 1 month in and have them send you the same email.

I got plenty of sponsors , like i said the idea wasnt the money i think the idea of the program is a very good idea. Just i think they were a bit quick to jump the gun. The software is buggy and getting kicked out is always a negative in my book too LOL

I might give them a try while adult.com is having some issues right now.

That friggin long ass thread I got a headache from reading, made me decide never to try them out. one simple question turned into 100+ post thread.

How do you get paid for this. I have read everything in the FAQ and I still don´t know how I will get paid for something like this - do you get paid for BW transfered or pr. image transfered.

They could do a better job of explaining thing on their sites....

You were deactivated because our system reported that files were coming off of your machine that had been renamed to the .MPG extension instead of the WMV extension they came with.

This was verified by 3 other PeerProfit apps running on the network. We emailed you regarding this.

We have since re-activated your account and turned your login back on and re-emailed it to you.

As for our compensation program....we made this VERY CLEAR on the other thread and will be making some major changes to our website so that this information is clear and easy to understand.

For now SwapBucks V1.0 is paying out as follows:

We take the total popups a PeerMaster sends to the Network and divide by the total popups in the Network for any given time period. The result is expressed as a percent and then multiplied by the overall Network Pool of money which is 50% of Net Proceeds.

If this doesn't help please contact me directly for a better explanation in the meantime. Like I said the website will reflect this very soon.

FYI we are also hard at work on a Pay Per Conversion Program for WebMasters.

AHA mpw i know the problem , and in fact i wish to change my original statement , because i now remember i actually did rename a couple files.

And i will tell you why. ( i wont do it again but didnt realise it was a problem.

Ok when it originally started up i started getting a few files and i tried playing one of them. And the screen pops up and it asks to obtain a license for the video.

Okay on several of the videos that your program sent me , when i open them up it says CANNOT PLAY FILE INVALID FILE

This video was sent to me i can verify this from my port scanner, i did not alter the file

It is still in my shared folder , i cannot view the file it is named .wmv , so i simply tried renaming the file to .mpg to see if it would play. ( it still didnt play )

Now i suppose i should have deleted it instead of changing the extension , but it kind of scares me to hold videos for other people , that i cant verify for myself. ( who knows what could be on these things. )

I do appreciate the quick response though, And i hope things run smoother in the future.

Also in the future if i get files i cannot play what do i do with them ? Is it within the rules to delete them. ( i dont think its fair we should hold files that we cannot verify the contents. )

I'm so glad you posted this, Smokey. I was considering giving this a small trial to see how it went (like you, I don't need the money, I was just curious) but now that I see you can't rename those RIDICULOUSLY named files I wouldn't touch this program for anything. I can't see where anyone in their right mind would download these files, especially files with a URL in their name, so I'll have to pass on this one. Too bad, it could have been fun to check out.

Smokey when you installed your Windows Media Player did you disenable the Silent License Delivery Option? It's a checkbox in the opening install window?

You can reset it by

Tools/Options/Privacy/Enhanced Playback Experience/

And Make Sure "Acquire Licenses Automatically for Protected Content Is Checked"

Also Tootie the reason the files are named the way we name them at SwapBucks is to INCREASE the chance someone will pull them from your machine and be exposed to the PeerProvider's site and products.

It works...and very well.

Once i changed that option the video worked fine, But i had never changed that on my own , It was set like that by default when i installed windows media player 9.0

Its strange that some of the videos work with that option turned off , but some of the videos dont work.

What about .pdf files, people were sending me pdf files as well ?

How do those make money. ?

There is no way to move a PDF file in our system currently.

PeerProfit V1.0.1 will only move Signed files that we know about.

Hmm well i recieved a pdf file thru peerprofit from one of your users.

paris hilton 10 porn videos.PDF was the filename. I certainly didntmake it myself , it came to me thru your sysetm straight into the download folder i had made for swapbucks.

Your comments are quite offensive given you don't know who we are or what our company is about and you have not even given us a chance to pay you.

First off, SwapBucks has the unique position of collecting from various programs and paying our PeerMasters. No company has ever tried this that I am aware of. I was recieving PDF files from swapbucks.

Your rep says that this isnt possible.

So im wondering why i was receiving pdf files and what safeguards does swapbucks have in place.

Will i be sharing files for people that im not paid for ?

The PDF file i was sent does not open properly, but when i HEX the file itself i find some urls inside.

The filename of the PDF file that i was sent thru swapbucks is named above, Heres a snap of the file when it is hex'd
