The only adult I have done was for Danni.com... did not take anything when I left.

My mainstream samples are in my custom programming par of the sig..... That is my main business..... There are samples there.

No prices because I have people resell for me... they mark up my rates and I do not want their clients to se that they are paying more than I regularly charge.

Okay, I see why no prices on the site but I have to tell you that I searched through about ten adult designer sites the other night looking to hire someone and the ones with the clear price per project are the ones that I put in my favorites.

Not that I'll order, but maybe since you need the money, you could post a special sale. Like XXXamount/$ for a free site, avs, premium avs, gallery templates etc. You may find you'll get more orders that way.

I love the color scheme on the arizona site and think you do great work, but a price of $65/hour tells me nothing about what a project I may want costs.

I know designers believe they should get top dollar for their designs and I think some of them should but doing a bunch of smaller projects, especially when you are in need of money fast, may be the best idea while you wait for those "big clients"

I feel you, NB. Before I starting building porn sites I did freelance work. Rented out an office that cost me a fortune...the whole nine yards. But I couldn't sell either. One month I'd be having steak for dinner...the next would be Fruit Loops & water because I couldn't afford milk.

Why don't you take your design skills & build yourself some paysites or premium AVS sites?

I closed down my office, started working from home & can't be bothered to take on new clients anymore for design because it just doesn't pay as well as working for yourself. No hassles either.

If you have been around here long enough to know these things then you have been around here long enough to know me. Kinda funny that I got under your skin so easily.

Looks like you are my chosen entertainment for the day.

Sales isn't hard. That is, it isn't something that requires lots of training. Selling expensive products or selling huge quantities requires someone great at sales, sure, but selling enough to make a living provided that you're reasonably good at what you do doesn't.

What it takes is time. Instead of hiring another salesperson, what you need to start out with is contacting past clients. Ideally by phone or IM, alternatively by personalized e-mails - the more interactive and personal the better. Heck, if you have clients that you've met in person before that work nearby, call and ask if they have time for lunch or a beer.

Remind them about past projects you've done for them that you think they were happy with. Explain that your bookings are light at the moment, and you'd be grateful if they've got anything and would give them a discount to fill up some more of your time.

Trust me, if your work is worth anything, it works. Don't beg, but make it clear that you're ready to be flexible on price if they order now or place a big order or commit to order multiple projects over a timeframe.

Then go through your address book, old e-mails and memory and contact anyone from the biz you've dealt with that might have work and call/IM/e-mail them personally. Just make sure you don't spam, make it personal and ask them if they know anyone else.

Now, if you do this once you're likely to get quite a bit of business ,but whatever you do, don't stop. Set aside a few hours a week - perhaps half an hour to an hour ad day to call both people that have given you business in the past or other people you know - ask for business, ask for suggestions of who else might need your services.

All it takes is persistence, and the only things that will determine whether you're successful or not is that you make sure you're not too pushy or feel obnoxious to your potential customers, and that you make sure you do your work well and deal with them in a good way.

90% of your business should be from repeat customers. They'll know you and won't care whether or not you're a great, slick salesman - they'll care about the service you deliver. The remaining 10% are the though ones, but if you take the effort to keep on contacting your past customers you should have enough business to be able to afford spending a lot of time closing new ones simply because they're likely to buy more than once (think of it just as sponsors paying ridiculous per sign up fees because they get the recurring sales).

My customers are still with me but not enough "maintenance" to really say anything. I depend on the new accounts, for my chunks of income. From there I pay my bills, have some fun, buy some toys and bank the rest.
