"The customers are ours, we provide technical and customer support, we are responsible for chargebacks, and Webmasters drive traffic to our site and consumers purchase a password that grants them access to our network of sites," said Cory Hedgepeth, Adult Check's head of public relations and marketing.

Access to whose network of sites? Who OWNS the sites in that network of sites? Not you. Surfers purchase access to sites NOT owned by you THROUGH you. You are a HRIPSP, you just don't know it yet.

no idea what VISA is going to do with respect to AVSes but that argument is specious.
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

However, I seriously doubt that we are holding your reserves. If you were not a primary account holder we never held your reserves.

My Daddy told me not to take another man's bet, so no thanks. If you email Jeff Thaler with the MasterCode and Company Codes he will let you know. It is strange that the first time I am hearing about this is on GFY.

What is an average percentage of rejected non-US card in your transactions? As I got from your answer, it is a good idea to have processing companies in different regions and there is no all-in-one solutions currently presents, is it?

Account code is 204. And obviously you guys never talk to Rand or Amparo. I'm tired of talking to Amparo. I've only been bitching about this for months. I want to open another site but dont see why I should send in $750 for visa fees when you can just take the $750 out of the money you've been holding for three years.

I can't give you numbers. But don't misunderstand my answer. Maybe my answer was not clear.

It is just a fact that risk is more difficult to maage on cards outside the USA. That would be true for any processor.

Does running free 30 minute trials and doing cross-sales (to your own sites) increase CB ratios?

What are the cons (customer service isn't really one) for having a merchant account and running it via epoch?

Actually the biggest headache by far is dealing with the changes made by the card associations. Last year it was VISA and the IPSP registration. This year we have changes from Mastercard...

                                      1. No.

                                      2. None if you are prepared to accept the risks of card association fines. For example: 15 chargebacks on MasterCard transactions is a $25K fine, month 1 and it gets worse. This assumes you can find a bank that will give you a high risk account.

Jeff will be back to you in an hour or so. He is out right now.

As for the $750, we don't move money from one account to another. It causes accounting issues.

I am sure Jeff will sort you out.

Are these MC and VISA fines soo high only on high risk merchant accts (adult) or on mainstream merchant accts too?

You know the answer to that one. Just for us. What really pisses me off is that "high risk merchants" have lower chargebacks than "mainstream merchants". But we are an easy target.

The following are the maximum chargeback ratios allowed on Mainstream merchant accts:

                                                    Visa >2.50%
                                                    MasterCard >2.50%

Beyond these limits, fines are assessed from $25.00 to
$50.00 per transaction with significant increases if the
situation continues, including added review and
administration fees that can go as high as $25,000 and $500
                                                    respectively.

But soo far I didnt hear about anyone yet, enforcing this policy on mainstream merchants.

Yes, but for high risk MC is 1% and Visa has non US thresholds as well and th efine amounts are higher.

And you are correct, in so far as I have never heard of a mainstream merchant being fined.

                                                              Another q. regarding "Factoring".

This is called factoring or money laundering. People come in
contact with online merchants all the time who got "Ripped

cards. Online merchant never got paid, but this company still continue to process credit cards of their "clients" exmembers on paysite).

example: oxbill.com , which was debated this week.

Bottom line: Only Merchants can touch the money. We at EPOCH learned a painful lesson on this very subject 4 years ago. We are in litigation today as a result and suffered a loss of millions and reputaion in the process. We did however pay back every single penny.
