Got my Absinth

I finally got the bottle of Absinth I ordered last month from the Czech Republic. I smelled it and it smells alot like liquorice.

So, for the Absinth drinkers here, what is the best way to drink this stuff? Poured over a sugar cube?

yes over a sugar cube,
there isnt alot of shit to mix it with,

look up sambooka recipes, and mix it with the same thing, the flavor is very very similar.

bleh i hate black licorise, and i cant belive u had to order that stuff from czech republic, in canada we have it at most local liqour stores.

and original absinthe is from France. u should have got it from there although im sure there isnt a huge diff.

How did you get interested in this drink? You probably know the dubious past this liquor has......

55% by volume. I got the cheapy bottle.

I shoulda just gone up to Canada and got some, I wonder if they would have let me back over the boarder with it. They shipped it to me as "medicinal oinment"

The stuff you guys buy is alcohol with some cheap extracts (is that the correct word) from so called absinth.
We have a bar here in Amsterdam that serves that stuff. Its digusting, expensive and it makes you feel a little bit funny.

A simply joint is stronger.

The traditional way to drink absinthe:

You're suppose to have an absinthe spoon, but you can do it this way as well. Poor about two shots of absinthe into a tumbler.

Take a teaspoon of sugar and poor a little absinthe on it. Light it on fire and let it burn until the sugar starts to caramalize. At that point, stick it into your tumbler and stir it around (be careful because the absinthe in the tumbler will light on fire). Let that burn for a second or two, blow it out, and down it!

Prepare to see pink elephants dancing around your room...
