Do we have to forget Yahoo for our porn web sites ?

Yahoo! France are not using the results of Google anymore, but it doesn't look like it's using Inktomi yet.
It seeems to display only the web sites it has in its directory.
For the search term "sexe" for example, only 33 web sites !! 17.100.000 on Google...

In their section to suggest a web site, you can make an express submission for 250?, and more precisely 500? for erotic content!!
But the surprise is they say the erotic web sites WILL NOT APPEAR in any search, only when the surfer is browsing the Yahoo directory, which is very few traffic compared to the searches I guess...

I don't know if it's going to be also like that on Yahoo.com or if they are going to include Inktomi without filter for porn web sites, but it looks very bad for our business.

I hope this is useful information and more info about this is welcome...

Oh, BTW, paying those 500? doesn't garantee your site will be accepted.

Well, I think it might be interesting to anticipate a bit ;)

And... yes, they are showing Overture Sponsored links at the top of the search results. I bet those links receive a lot of traffic right now in regards to the few web sites in the results.

Yesterday I noticed a spurt in traffic from yahoo, for listings that werent in google or inktomi. Very strange.
