Ya got alot more range with 7.62 and anyone knows in a close quarter fire fight anything goes so 5.56 ya get more rounds to fire.
5.56 still has the near same result of 7.62. Both induce enough Hydro trauma to knock a person unconscious even if shot in the ankle.
Safest situations are always at a range with the advantage of surprise. Trust me. You like the range
