It's definitely a holiday worth commemorating. Heroes like MLK jr are who push America to live close to its ideals.
Remember... ideals are only ink on paper if they are not practiced. This is the message that MLK, Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan teach posterity. Hate em or love them, there's a lot to be said for the courage it takes to make this ideal reality.
