mmm....If you would have emailed him advising him that you had to take the page down because of directory changes, he wouldn't have banned you. If his programs find that you've changed the page.......mmm....I think that may do it.

First off, adding advertising or changing current advertising to something more agressive will indeed get you banned. In this case it don't seem to hurt you though, 'cause the link does "nothing but fucking burn bandwidth" anyway...
But we're talking about http://back-off-bitch.net/gal/ftv/mandy/hun.htm, right? Good gallery. Pictures are huge though. A resolution of 800x600 would be big enough, which would save you quite a lot of bandwidth. The text link as it appears between the thumbs now is no problem. I don't consider this making the gallery more commercial. I hope you'll find a good way to make the gallery commercially interesting. I think it's a good gallery. But if you don't make money from it it's of no use obviously...Comment

I wish I'd get something listed there sometime. I doubt I'd complain though. If my pages convert on Joe Schmoe's site, I'm sure the Hun's visitors would send me a much better conversion rate.
Sorry it didn't work out, but why not submit something more commercially accepted and give it another run? I think you may have just shot yourself in the foot before you took many steps.

If you want a good program to resize those images check out Graphic Workshop Professional. http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/gwspro.html It's free and does the job nicely. When building sites I use that in conjunction with some tools I custom coded and it makes creating nice looking quick loading galleries by hand a simple process. Good for creating thumbs and resizing your full size pics.icq 279990726

Everyone who reads this board know the Hun is a reasonable guy, you could have emailed him and had the link taken care of. Everyone who reads his rules knows he doesn't like hosts or sponsors who trap his surfers in console hells, you could have done that before you redirected your 404 to mtree.
A tiny little bit of thinking things through instead of getting angry and spraying this shit all over the boards would have saved you alot of trouble.Comment

First off, I wasent spewing off angry.
Secondly I just asked if anyone knew how to get a hun listing removed.
Third, I did email him, no response in 24 hours. so i asked here how to get it done.
Fourthly, I was not redirecting surfers. The ONLY way to get the 404 page is when people do something to warrant a 404, mistyped url, or snoop dirs with no index file they get my 404.
Simple htaccess entry....
DirectoryIndex index.html index.shtml index.htm
Options -indexes
ErrorDocument 404 http://www.back-off-bitch.net/404.html
I don't have blind links on my galleries, I don't have misleading banners, text links or thumbs.
And I DON'T redirect anything to mtree. I just have a 404 that had links to mtree.
So saying I got what I deserve because someone clicked a bad link on a WEBMASTER board is like saying I deserve getting my nuts chopped off because someone raped me.

I don't submit to the hun much, but when I do, I know I'm taking the risk of burning tons of bandwidth with the possibility of no sales. I'm just not that great at selling yet.

Just because you're listed on The Hun doesn't mean you'll get sales right away. Not all galleries always convert. And they certainly all don't convert within 24 hours. I've had galleries listed where I didn't make a penny the first day, but the second day I made two sales, and the third day I made a third sale.

Im guessing not to long, otherwise you would know that
the more friends you make, the more $$$ you will make.
This biz is all about networking and it has nothing to do with
ass kissing, but more of just being nice and courteous.
On another note, the hun is easy to get listed on if you
build even semi nice galleries, and follow the rules, use
content thats not overused and understand that PG reviews
