Remember this: It is a big difference between a good character and a good thespian. I suspect some of you are in to the former.
Granted that Sandra Bullock is no method actor but she conveys likeability on the screen and thats why millions of people can relate to here.

As for the oldtimers like Gene Hackman and Pacino et. al I think they have gone past their sell by date. They play the same character over and over(nothing wrong with that per se....But I

hackman isnt like that, he has a number of films ranging from superman, to basketball, to submarines, to combat.
