Cool! I have tons of VHS/SVHS tapes I need to edit too. Any advice, peeps? From what I gather, I need a card in my computer I can hook the VCR up to with RCA jacks, and the card will convert that VHS (analog) signal to digital.

Which cards do this that don't cost $100's of dollars?

I think by now you should be able to get capture cards for less than $100. My GF2 Pro has mpeg1 capture and it's old now.

Then you can use software like Virtual Dub to convert from mpg1 to mpg4 (divx/xvid) if you want.
