    Text on tgp galleries

How important is the text on your galleries to getting more clicks?
Do you use a lot of text ad copy, some or none at all?
Do you track what words tend to get more clickthroughs?

Any gallery pro's out there want to put in your two cents?

    thanks
    Joe

Chat App that pays you!, Let's use this chat app that pays us for using it!

Why use ICQ or Skype when we could use a chat app (with video & voice) that pay$ you (up to 70%) of all the ad revenue they make!

    All the best!

    Hi Joe,

I think Text links are important on your galleries. Gives the surfer another option to click thru to your "sponsor" well written text helps out alot with "catchy words" that way your surfer will click right on thru and want to see more of the action. Kinda like a teaser hope that helps.

      Hi Jasmine,

      How are you today?

Thanks for the input. Always great to hear from you!

I just wonder how many guys are actually reading gallery page text versus just clicking any pic with a pair of tits on it.
I think its important to use text links too I agree.

I wonder what the average click through rate is for a good gallery?

The above is very true. I think men are more visual creatures so probably the majority are just clicking the pics.

            Hiya Joe,

Next to content, text is king.. for two reasons, one, some well written short text, something very descriptive and hard hitting is much more apt to be clicked on that a banner. That's something that most experienced webmasters have learned over time.

Another thing.. the search engines thrive on text, I've gotten just a single gallery page listed very well because of the text.

I would stay away from long paragraphs.. but if you have to do that, use bold headers like a newspaper or magazine does, something that sums up the paragraph in a few words. If the surfer can't look at your page and get the idea in 4 seconds, it's too complicated. Keep it simple, and descriptive on the text and you'll do well.

a small amount of text works very well especially if it contains a bit of humour and is designed to tweak the surfers interest. Too much text and the surfer just gets sensory overload and ignores the whole thing.

                Thanks everyone!

That makes sense and sounds like good advice to me.
Keep it simple yet provocative and interesting.

Have any of you ever tracked the click through ratios on your galleries?

You better believe it! Joe, if there's one piece of advice I could give you, it would be this.. know your stats like the back of your hand, always be aware of where your traffic is coming from and where it's going, and how it's converting.

In anticipation of your next question, your server should have stats for you, if you aren't sure about that, ask them, and follow them ... very closely ;)

Tia do you use different affiliate tracking codes on different galleries to see what is getting better results?

                    Thanks again,

no, what I do is serve banners on my own server if possible, and track the hits to each one to see which get clicked the most.

I think you have to have well written text with your photos. Sometimes the pics alone do not tell the full story so you can add to it and get the surfer going with short blurbs of text, or part of a story. I also think one big bold line of text to grab your attention and set the tone is a must. Works for me.
