i havent had alligator. the best meat ive ever had would be kangaroo, its really rich and if cooked properly, beats anything else in my opinion. being in australia makes it easy to get of course, i dont know if you could get it anywhere else

Are all these meats "gamey" at all? alligator, emu, ostrich, etc...
I've had venison (deer) and duck and both tasted kinda gamey and gross to me. Don't get me wrong, I'm a total omnivore, but maybe they weren't prepared well?

ostrich tastes along the line of beef and is a good low fat substitue if you can get it. Alligator is chickenish but a bit sweeter.
Neither of them taste like Venison which I enjoy but always dries out the roof of my mouth.
Alligator is far from gamey. They serve it at a lot of places around here. I had some fried alligator tail last weekend as a matter of fact. It's good stuff.
Are you serious?
What does it taste like? Whats the texture like?
I hate to bump an older post, but i cant resist.
The taste is very similar to chicken...the texture, is more like lobster.
However.....referring to Shoks reference about soft shell crab....If you have never had soft shell crab, and cant think about eating an entire crab, shell in all, dont even consider it.
