I have discovered the joy of mp3's...

Mmmmmmmm... I didn't have a computer with sound for like three years (I don't game on my computers or anything, they are workhorses only), but this one has a kickass sound card built into the motherboard.. so now I'm taking advantage of having sound.. nothing better than having Rammestein pounding while editing content.. or doing whatever.. yum.

Looking for all the old stuff I used to have and lost over the years.. old megadeth, RHCP, all that shit.. I'm SO happy!

If the soundcard's built into the mobo, chances are it's not kick ass....but have fun with the highspeed and mp3s

Yeh, and best of all MP3's are FREEEEEEEE!

Just think no more having to spend $15.95 for a little round piece of 10 cents piece of plastic that really only has one or two songs you wanted to hear anyway.

Maybe im just this way cause I run a record label and do porn..

The integrated sound in motherboards is actually getting pretty good. I just got a Gigabyte motherboard for a 3mhz CPU, and onboard it's got 24-bit 6 channel surround with digital output, even subwoofer out.
Although I disabled it on the first boot.

make sure when you download these the bit rate quality is 192 or better (320 is great but larger file size).

the lower the quality, the crappier it sounds.

Ya know im not sure how to take this, someone who works for a content company talking about downloading a crapload of mp3's...

Im not trying to start a flame war, but this just seems ALOT odd to me...how would you feel if you went over to your p2p file browser and saw craploads of JACT content for download?

Like i said im biased..i work in the music industry as well...

The NForce integrated sound chips are actually good. About equivalent to a Soundblaster Live.

I'll stick with my Audigy 2 Platinum.

Anything sound blaster is a shit card...

Maybe just maybe its ok for consumer use, but for audofile or pro use, forget it...

take a look at the 5.1/7.1 prosumer cards from m-audio.

Then your next step is realizing mp3's sound like shit and anything under 192k and even 192k is barely ok...

See how good most pro cards are when you decide you want to play a video game that supports 3D audio.

The new m-audio cards aimed at regular consumers aren't really any better than the new stuff Creative makes, just different. Although maybe they are a better value dollar wise compared to the Platinum versions.
