His post on this silly message boaed has caused the staff here to dust off the 2257 caps, and make certain that we are still compliant. With a library as extensive as ours, it will take a few days. It is never a bad idea to remind people once in a while that attention to detail is the difference between success and jail

We have always practiced being 2257 compliant and we are not above popping the hood to make sure that is still the case.

                                                                                                                                                        But mostly, it's a warning to all of those who have ever bought content to make sure that their content provider is compliant before using that content.

                                                                                                                                                        Content people make the choice to be above the law or not, or they forget and slack... it's their perogative. It's not the webmasters fault though if they buy content that could get them into trouble. Yes they should check, but they really shouldn't have to.

Yes, he wants the content providers to update their info or add it or what ever they need to do to be compliant.

                                                                                                                                                                        Content people make the choice to be above the law or not, or they forget and slack... it's their perogative. It's not the webmasters fault though if they buy content that could get them into trouble. Yes they should check, but they really shouldn't have to.

                                                                                                                                                                        So no... there's not only 50 people to email... there's literally thousands.
                                                                                                                                                                        I think you got the point, no need to post the list, just shoot them an email. In most cases it is just an oversite.

Theoretically hundreds of customers for each content provider, therefore, at least a few thousand people buying content. If content providers only had one customer each, the list Aaron posted would have had like, 3 providers on it.
