Photoshop is great for that. Can anyone tell me how to have a single action/droplet resize wide images to 800 x 600, and tall ones to 600 x 800? The "Image Size" function remembers the number you type in, so I have been using one action for tall, one for wide.

          Go for a percentage.

have you tried using the "batch>fit image" as an option?
