    Can You Trust Your Sponsors?

Similar to the content providers thread:

    Which sponsors are 2257 compliant?

If you use banners or sample pics, it looks as if it is time to add custodian info for those images to your website's 2257 page.

If you were to interpet the law literally (which the Justice Dept very well might), you are going to need to account for every image and piece of video you display on your site (and a thumbnail that links off to another site is still displayed on your site).

Wouldn't it suck to post your own 2257 information, bite the bullet displaying your home or office address, and then get nailed because the ID the DoJ came to check is for an image on a BangBus promo gallery--but you forgot to display their custodial info.

You could then very well be penalized just as if you had forgotten to list your own information.

    Don't put it past Ashhahahahaha...

I suspect this law tweak is just the first step to shake some of us down.

So which sponsors are A-OK in the eyes of the new law? I would suspect it's just a matter of copying and adding their info onto our own 2257 pages?

all have 2257 links from their paysites' front or second pages, easily findable.

What I'm wondering is exactly how we should link to the sponsors' 2257 pages. Right now at the bottom of my table of custodial records for the content I've bought, I've got:
"Also some visual content may have been supplied by the following "Sponsors", who maintain their own 18 U.S.C. Section 2257 Compliance Notices on the following pages:"
and then links to each sponsor's own 2257 page, like so:
                      Adult Revenue Service

And I'm wondering if that is legally correct. God I don't want to have to copy all of the sponsors' custodial records into my custodial records table as well...

Actually, if my custodial records list looked like a phone book, I would feel MUCH better about having my address info there!

Plus, think of the wild goose chase for the feds that could ensue on say a TGP.

The law doesn't say you need to link each set to each custodian...

                        hmmm
