    Google Freshbot and PageRank

I'm curious if those of you who get freshbot's visiting your sites, if you notice a difference in the time span betweeen freshbot listings based on your pagerank?

For example, I typically get a freshbot re-index every 2-3 days based on a PR 6 site and I'm trying to see if the pagerank of a particular site influences the time frame between freshbot visits.

Right now I'm inclined to believe that Freshbot and PR are unrelated since CNN (PR 9) seems to be getting 2-3 days apart for their freshbot as well.

Any thoughts on the topic appreciated...

it is also based on how often you update. higher PR more visits and more updates more visits.

youll probably find that sites with PR lower than 5 wont get freshbotted every 2-3 days but maybe only once a week... if your 6 and above you should be seeing freshie every day ... the page google shows in the results might only change every 2 or 3, but freshbot should be popping in daily..

To be honest, I would have suspected that the higher the PR the more often Freshbot should visit you since you have lots of updates right? But try checking CNN and their cache, 3 days old and their PR is 9. I have a PR 5 site which is on a 4-5 day freshbot and my PR 6 site is on 2-3 day freshbot, but then this CNN thing blew my theory...

Relating to content changes, I'm assuming content changes everyday (which is the case for both my sites above and CNN)

i have a PR6 that gets freshbotted 2-3 days and one PR6 doesn't get freshbotted at all... the one that gets freshbotted is updated every day..

CNN of course will be spidered by google's newsbot.. so there's definitely Fresh content from them around...

Mediapartners? Are you using Adwords syndication program or providing a newsfeed to Google?

PR and freshbots are totally unrelated. Freshbots are only coming when your site is updated and they reindex the new site to google. The way PR is calculated is a totally different story.

I don't think WG would disagree with you - I think the discussion is more along the lines of where you need to list a new site to get it fresh botted quickly.

Will it be picked up within a day from a page with a PR of 4 or do you need to look for a page with a higher PR to make sure the new site gets picked up quickly.

I often list on a page with a PR of 4 that gets Google going through 4 or 6 times a day but its not clear to me if I get any benefit from the fresh bot.

On the other hand my partner had a gallery on the hun who has a pr of 5 and that gallery is now sitting on the top of page 1 of the SERP for a good term that she had included in the gallery title.

My goal for this post was to try and figure out what it takes to get a freshbot to hit my sites faster, whether it be higher PR or the fact that content changes more often and what's considered sufficient changes to justify a more frequent freshbot.
