Yep, I'm a softie on that. As tough as I am in certain areas, I've never liked having to fire people. Always delegated that to someone else. I just can't handle thinking I'm putting someone in a tough financial spot not having a job if they have kids at home, even if they deserve to be fired.
I've done it of course, but always tried to give them ample time to get another job before cutting them off and never felt good afterwards when you see the look of sadness in their eyes. Something about that process just gets to me.
