GL2 has a little 2.5 inch monitor flip out. The sony has a 3.5. And try to do a POV shoot with the Cannon. Good luck aMigo..

Sobe girl is right - the Sony VX 2000 is absolutely the best choice for POV shoots and any other. In low light, it looks better through the frekin monitor than with the naked eye. All my other stuff was shot with a Cannon 1 chip that I now use as a firkin doorstop to my shed in the yard. Everything that I shoot from now on is on this Camera. I'm Shooting Kylie Wild POV B/G with it Tuesday - check my site on Thursday to see the dif. Free username & password to the first 5 webmasters who ask me and have a reason.

WEll actually I was talking about the 950. I just find the Sony controls and buttons to feel cheap and crappy and that small flip out display is worthless. And the 950 has the newest generation of CCDs, even the VX 2000 does not have those chips yet. The 950 was updated by sony first. Dont' know why but that is the way they did it. And check out the prices too. The VX2000 can be found for around 1450 now and the 950 is around 2400..

I swear by my VX2000's. I can't even imagine shooting with anything else.

Except I was playing with some badass studio cams. Those were SWEET but they cut autofocus out of the more expensive ones. Even that new Pana 24p kills the autofocus on progressive. What's the point of that???

Exactly Mike. I looked at that Panasonic before I bought my VX2000 and saw that they diabled the AF in progressive mode. Also the LUX goes WAY WAY up in progressive mode. (In both cameras)

For anyone else that's looking for a cam,

FACT: The VX2000 is the best quality & lowest lux over the TRV950 and the Canon GL series mainly because 1/3 rd inch ccd's instead of 1/4 inch ccds.

IMO the only shortcomings of the VX is it's size.

I have bouth Sony 950 and Sony VX-2000,if u ask me bouth are great but Sony VX-2000 is better offcourse,simple it is new and little bit better for proffesional shoots
