And don't forget about the shavers in the background shaving the shavers.

Everyone points their fingers at just the program operators all the time. You forget how easy it would be for the billing companies to shave the sponsors and you also.

Let's say after the sponsor gets done shaving you, the sponsor's 3rd party cc processor shows a false cancellation from a member on the sponsors masters stats, so the sponsor and you are no longer getting a rebill from the customer, but then the cc processor bills them for an extra month or two past the cancellation and just pockets the extra transactions and screws both the sponsor and the webmaster.

As long as a company is run by human beings it can not ever be trusted 100% because humans are inherently devious self serving critters. Trust Me, In Business Trust No One!

I see this retarded statement on here several times a month and I find it hilarious. You are basically saying who gives a shit they shave this one pays more.

So what are you going to do if these shavers show less and less in your stats and instead of $1000 vs $900 it gets to $200 vs $150.

From your point of view keep sending to the site that sends $200 because thats more money. Foolish.

I hate to say it but the people who shave rely on the stupidity of webmasters.

The ones who just look at the ratio, dont see the wider picture...

This is why PER signup programs are so popular IMO. If webmasters actually looked at the wider picture there is NO way you would choose a per signup sponsor over something which converts and recurs ...

Let's look at it this way. Let's say you have a site with a steady consistent traffic base. A TGP with 100K bookmarks for instance.

You know that program A shaves, and that program B doesn't shave.
You fly banners for program A this month, and you get a check for 5K.
You fly banners for program B next month, and you get a check for 3K.

Are you going to keep sending traffic to program A, who makes you the most money, even though you know they're shaving your sales, or are you going to stick with program B and take a 2K a month loss just because they're honest?
(If you answered B you're either lying or a terrible business person)

Also, Darren has a point, resellers more or less created the shave themselves. They flock in droves to whichever program gives the highest $$ per join or per click. So in order for a sponsor program to keep its webmaster base, it has to "keep up with the joneses" and offer similar payouts.

When Flashcash announced they were paying $20 per free trial sign up, half a dozen webmasters posted "$20 a free trial isn't even worth sending traffic to"
But realistically that's all a free trial join is worth, unless you're shaving signups, or, pulling a porncash and fucking the surfer with a dick big enough to kill an elephant.

The bottom line is.....well, the bottom line. Send your traffic to the place that makes you the most money and forget all of the other shit.

Lenny2 is so RIGHT, look at your bottom line profit and send th clicks to the sponsor which makes u the most.

The problem with this is most webmasters dont even know their profit - they are baoogled by ratios and $85 pay days.

We plan on adding trials again after we fully get our new program into place. You are still seeing those trial signups because not all webmasters have switched to the new program. We did not see any decrease in sales but we would still like to use them again; Lastly, we expect the new program to increase sales for webmasters by 20% if not more.
What I meant was that the membership sites themselves say "3 day trial access", but then when someone puts in their info and goes to the second join page there is no option for 3 day access. Most surfers who are trying to join based on that would stop there and would likely be pretty pissed off that they've given someone their email addy on the pretense that they could get a 3 day trial only to find out they can't. I bet the ratio of signups to the # of people that enter their info on the first page is very very low.

Thank you for bring that to our attention, we thought we fixed all of them, but all of our best converting sites have been fixed. We will be adding trials again ASAP, but again we have not seen decrease in signups. We are just waiting for the webmasters to switch to the new program and make sure our numbers are good before offering trials again. Thanks again. More than a couple of per signup sponsors shave and I'm talking by experience. If you want to believe the opposite it's fine.

I have done test signups, I do know from two per signup owners they do so, I have friends done test signups that never appeared, I know a major per signup sponsor putting a limit to 19 signups/day in your stats (even if you send 50signups, you wont get credit for them), I know from the no1 affiliate of a HUGE sponsor they do so and blah blah

My no1 concern is the performance of a sponsor per click. I focus there and try to maximize it. If a sponsor that I know it shaves, still manages to maximize my results, I will keep using it. A sponsor that doesn't shave, doesn't mean it will make you more money. This goes to the partnership programs as well. Sorry to say that, but the majorty of the partnership programs around suck ass and that's why I'm avoiding them. The money you'll make from a paysite doesn't reflect always their actual value, but for sure it reflects how they bill the surfer.
