Hee. Hee. People in glass houses should not throw stones.

No. That would be Mr. John Perry, CEO of Intercept Payment Solutions (formerly iBill). I feel bad for him, iBill, their clients and the industry,as it hurts us all. You should share that view to, imo.

So while I am not in a glass house, I still don't throw stones, asshole.

Oh, I'm sorry. Was that unprofessional too?

You have got to be the most unprofessional CEO I have ever seen. My original post was meant somewhat in jest but given your attitude you can count me out from ever moving any business to Epoch. And if you want to say that you don't need or want my business, that's cool. Why don't you alienate more potential customers while you are at it? Moron.

And you are full of shit about Mastercard. Maybe I got the figure wrong but there was a post on this very board just a few days ago how Paycom (that's you isn't it?) got fined by Mastercard and passed those fines on to some of your clients. Do you wanna own up to that or pretend it never happened?!?

Let me explain, our company has used every billing company that has existed since we started seven years ago. Epoch has provided excellent professional support when ever we have needed it. Payouts that arrive in a timely fashion and a suite of tools to help us make much more money than ever before. Their innovative approach to adult web billing far surpasses anyone else, take Epassporte for example, with the exception of CCbill no other company comes close to being able to provide a fraction of this and if webmasters think tech and client support are not important wait until you have a few thousand members and the problems start to roll in " i forgot my membership info" "which site did i join" what's my fucking name"

If you don't have a billing company that can provide excellent support like Epoch then it is your loss. You will lose time and possible members. I used to spend 10-12 hours each and every week on the phone to IBILL sorting out problems. With Epoch i call once a week just to shoot the shit with Amparo our rep.

I would much rather have Chris tell me like it is than have Ibill ignore my e-mails for 6 months at a time.
One thing Ibill will never do is call you an asshole and that's because you can never get to talk to any of them. Its you choice no one forces you to use any processor but we have 5 sites and haven't had a single problem that hasn't been fix within an hour. And our recurring billing has increased 25% since dropping Ibill 9 months ago.

??Somewhat in jest??? I doubt it. I am not trying to be unprofessional by disagreeing with your position. But I am not going to sit back and say ?Pretty please don?t lie about our company.? I tell it like it is, as this is my right. I am not trying to impress anyone or offend anyone; just being honest. If I think someone is an asshole, I say it. If I am wrong or later discover I am wrong I say that too.

Next, I do not know what post you are referring to ?a few days ago? about a MasterCard fine for Paycom. And yes, that is our company, brand name EPOCH. I do know that the exact figure you posted was an iBill fine by MasterCard. At least that is what they said to the SEC in their filing and on their public investor conference call.

Hello to the reps of Epoch.
In the past 6 months I have contacted your sales dept via phone, your online form and email .. the first time to get a second merchant account. I was initially contacted and then ingnored for about 1 month of emails and phone calls to my sales person.

I was then contacted again by this person with a contact to get a second merchant account and then heard nothing back again.

Just two weeks ago i sent in a request to get information about your 3rd party billing.. and I havnt heard anything at all.

I wish I would have known this was the place to find you guys..

Can you message me with your rates and info on 3rd party and such.. i no longer need a second merchant account.

                                Thanks

Interestingly enough, if there was one processor that could be all things to all people, that is what we would have - ONE PROCESSOR.

As I said initially in this thread, I would suggest that you deal with a processor who does business in your region and is fully compliant with either Visa US or Visa International for the transactions they handle.

Cutting corners or trying to beat the Visa rules is really not in your best interest, since Visa can and probably will start terminating people on a case by case basis for these tricks.

I second the motion for Verotel. I would add Glo-bill to that list.

Forget iBill and Websitebilling (if you wanna get paid).

CCbill is okay but I won't forget how they, along with iBill and Epoch tried a little price-fixing back in October when the visa "fees" came out. Initially all three of these companies said the fee was $750 (it's actually $500), nonrefundable blah blah blah. But when Verotel, globill, probilling, globosale and couple of other billers said they had no fees, all of a sudden CCBill came back the next week and offered to refund the $750! I do give them credit for at least reversing themselves on that but they deserve a little spanking for trying to initially gouge people with the fees. Not too sure if Epoch refunds the fees but I wouldn't use them in any case given what I see of their public relations. But that's just my opinion, your mileage may vary!

I've used epoch and ccbill 3rd party. It's hard to say for sure, but I'll guess that Epoch pays slightly larger checks overall given the same traffic, same product, ect.

However, in the past - maybe 2 years ago? - Epoch stopped paying checks for several weeks (seemed like several months). Hasn't happened in a while, but it has happened. There have been one or two smaller payment delays (about a week or so) also, I am pretty sure. That's some scarey shit.

CCBill has never paid a day late that I know of. That's important.

CCBill was a fucking nightmare to integrate with our affil tracking system. I spent thou$ands on programmmers, etc, while we got jerked around by CCBill tech support, who were completely fucking clueless. "Yes we can do that, sign up with us, wait, can we do that? shit, I don't know, let me check, yeah, that's built in but it's secret and no one knows how to work it, fuck, I don't know who did you speak with?...." That went on for weeks. My sense of CCBill is that they are great for your basic adult site, but if you are doing any custom tracking, like in-house affiliate tracking, then forget them.

Epoch, otoh, was trivial to integrate. Every aspect of the sale was easily passed to Epoch (product, affid, etc), and they post back seamlessly, absolutely trivial. After we dumped CCBill for Epoch we were up and running in a couple of days, and most of that time was spent ripping CCBill out of our site.

                                            Summary
                                            For basic site: CCBill.
For complex site: Epoch, but I think it wise to use your own merchant account.

Unlike the great Kimmykins I take exactly the opposite view of the VISA debacle. I think it's a pretty good pointer to the professionalism of these companies. They had months warning of this VISA thing, and as far as I can tell, IBill, CCBill & Epoch completely fucked it up. To add salt to the wounds, they then began to spread rumours about globill going out of business, being stripped of VISA etc. and tried to profit by price fixing the VISA fees. Basically they fucked their webmasters good.

My conclusion is that only one major processor, Globill, came out to that with any credit. (and lots of smaller processors, acpay, verotel etc.)

I also do not think there is any chance in the near future of a processing company having problems just because they do not use VISA US. It is true, VISA Asia, VISA Central etc. may well instigate the same rules eventually, but a company isn't classed as 'non-legit' as one idiot put it just because they don't use VISA US. Legality doesn't come into it, it's a trading rule. Nothing more, nothing less.

And to prove I'm not bias'ed *If* Globill are accepted AMEX with a false merchant category number as alleged. Then more fool them. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
