    She's so irresistable!

    My boys have bugged the hell outta me for a dog for years. I've halfheartedly looked here and there, but not ever come upon the right dog and the right time...

    Well look what popped into my life today. I don't get her for 5 more weeks (she's only 3 weeks old). Boy I'm a sucker for cute.

                      ive owned many cats, but there is NO LOYALTY like there is with dogs.

                      my dog is my boy, my cats have always been picky little snobs

                      but my dog hands with me and dont piss in my bed if I dont feed him wet food

                                                                                                                              Do you let your two's hair grow long or keep it clipped? The breeder has both the parents clipped. Although they don't look like the "show dog" shih tzu, it sure has to be easier for upkeep.

                                                                                                                                              We'd looked here and there. I've checked into different breeds. Been hesitant because of the cats I have and wondering if a dog in the house would upset the apple cart. Also dogs aren't as independent (good and bad to that).

                                                                                                                                              Today we went into Petco for crickets for my son's bearded dragon. At the doorway was a woman and her teenage son with a carry-kennel and a dog on a leash. Someone was holding a tiny black puppy. Normally I wouldn't do anything but "awwwww". Something made me walk over.

                                                                                                                                              Turned out the woman was not someone trying to pawn off mutts at the pet store door. She's a registered breeder who had also worked at Petco as a groomer. The 4 pups were on their way home from their first vet visit.

                                                                                                                                              I asked her which one was most active. She reached in the carrier and pulled out the pup in the picture. Well that face melted my heart. We got her address, went home and got my oldest son (had the younger one with me), and off we went.

                                                                                                                                              It's fate. The woman lives 8 blocks from me. She's now doing dog grooming from her home. I for sure know where to go for grooming.

                                                                                                                                                  I let them grow out....and its quite a pain.
                                                                                                                                                  meeka gets into everything and her hair is alot thicker than my other shih-tzu's hair....so she is always getting trimmed to help contain the knotting
                                                                                                                                                  my other shih-tzu is a boy and several years old than meeka....I dont have any problems with his hair and usually Im able to keep his hair at a nice long length pretty much all year round.
                                                                                                                                                  I will say that when the seasons change and they get alot of their hair cut off, they are alot cuter and easier to groom.
