Validus IM not that partial to Porches... a little round for my taste.. i like them long and sleek and curvy like a sexy woman... but mean and loud like a man ... oh that sounds so silly.. but its true... i like some italian makes.. the viper... baracudas... an older coupe deville... something sleek... as long as it looks good and is solid... but i really do prefer a shift... the only non shift car i had (not including trucks of course) was a 63 plymouth valiant push button automatic.. when i turned 16 it was mine... till i got out of collegeComment

I like the SL 55 AMG's, the CLK's and SLK's, the E-Klass... 98+ Camaros, Roadsters, and H1 diesels.... everything else is nice and I would look and drool but would never want to own.

This is NOT my car, it belongs to a good friend of mine, and in my opinion is one of the best hot rods ever.
It was built a year and a half ago by him with some help from old school rod builders.
NOTHING on the car is newer than 1960 (ok, maybe the tires...)
No Billit, no technology, hand built hardcore only.

I actually stripped a 53 Ambassador a couple of years back and I still have most of the trim and chrome, in fact I remember that the Buick style side chrome fit perfectly onto a 51 Merc 4 door, and no one could figure out where that chrome came from...

BTW - there is an immaculate, bone stock solid grey 46 Nash 600 in Brooklyn. The owner of Cafe Moto owns it and he drives it everywhere.Comment

There is a great Hot Rod show this upcoming weekend at the Gold Coast hotel, its put on by the Shifters Car Club, in association with the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly thing.
No, you do not need to buy Rockabilly tickets to go to the car show.
Its all about old school home built hot rods. No Billet, No Trailer Queens, each car held together with bailing wire, duct tape and hope.
Last year there were about 250 - 300 cars.Comment

I remember the day my engine was finally sitting in my car. Sitting in the drivers seat, starting the onboard computer and set the firing order and shift points. I remember turning the key over and hearing a loud bang and feeling the engine turn over and die. The second attempt did the same. Finally after the fourth try the engine idled for 20 seconds before dieing. After a few adjustments by my friend, it was time to break her in. We ran it at 3300 RPM for 30 minutes the first time, and WOW was there a lot of blue smoke.
I remember the deep rumbling sound that shook the garage walls. Oh it was so throaty with that 3 inch exhaust system. The gear drive was screaming? DAMIT I want a Street Rod?Comment

I am still a little unsure about those prowlers, I would like to see them with uncovered tires as well as with a little bigger engine. The way they come like that, I don?t like them too much, but I think it is a great concept. If it could look more like the Roadster? I would be happy!
