'I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church.

All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian, or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit.'

Thomas Paine The Age Of Reason 1794

how many times does one need to read this paragraph to grasp the concept?

Beautiful quote. Conveys exactly how I feel.

              No, I don't.
The bible is pretty much centered around a single theme: God. The fact that there happen to be some historical facts in it as well does not change that.

For instance, the sentence "On 11 September 2001 Allah's mighty fist came down and smashed the WTC in New York" is untrue, even though it does reference a historical fact.

Likewise, not all single facts in the bible have to be false for the bible itself to be false. A fictional novel that references existing places, objects, people and events is still a fictional novel. It all comes down to the main theme, really.

Well we all know that the people who created the bible worshiped aliens... So, no I don't believe in the bible because we interpret it in the wrong ways.

The Bible is the greatest example of censorship... ever.

Anyone see the "History of the Bible" (i think that's what it was called) show last week on A&E or TLC... not sure which.. it was pretty good.

I don't believe in a thing in the bible! Too many unanswered questions that leave me wondering! Although I was rasied going to church (christian) for my whole childhood til I was 16, then stopped going! I always thought it was BS and still do!

I believe that when we die, we fucking die! That's it!

And also where did the dinosaurs come from? Never a mention there about them! So that means that God created earth and where the fuck the did they come from?

It's just BS, and nothing more, but this is my view on it and nobody can change it! I've read 90% of the bible and I can say that I just wish our president would stop fucking saying God bless us all or shit like that, cuz we have the seperation of church and state and I don't think there is a god!

First let me say I'm not surprised that the vast majority of porners don't believe in God. I myself don't believe.

That said I have no problem at all with people's belief in God and in many cases it is a good thing. ORGANIZED RELIGION is what I have a problem with. The "my God is better than your God" types drive me absolutely nuts.

There ARE ways to build boats without metal straps, nails, or boats. Ask people who still live in the medeterranian today and I'm sure they would be glad to fill you in. Or is the archeological evidence that people DID have large-scale seaworthy vessels thousands of years ago not convincing enough for you? I'm not saying I believe the ark story happened as it said, but the possibility of building such a vessel is most certainly not a doubtful one. If you're going to attempt to disprove biblical events, perhaps you should try a little more research of your own. Many biblical events HAVE a place in fact and archaeology proves this. As I've said before though, the events do not always occur HOW or WHY it claims they did, and some surely are flights of religous fancy.
well you show me a way to design a boatd big enoug to do what they claime dit done is my point i did not say they couldnt build big vessels did i? i said how the fuck did they build a boat big enough to carry 2 of every animal for the time wit no type of metal straps etc it is impossable i se eno arguement on dinasaurs

This is my take on it. My sister is a born again Christian which is all good but, she thinks he knows GOD better than anyone else that is not a saved Christian.

She feels like she can judge you and tell you what "your" doing wrong and she can sleep with a married man and tell me its okay because she is a saved "Christian" and that God will forgive her because she believes in the Bible.
