"I do graphic and web design for large businesses and small companies alike. Both mainstream and other related niches".

Generally, I tell people that I do "web design". If they are family, and they push, I mostly make stuff up. Friends can know, and certainly girls I am interested in get the truth.

Neither of my girlfriends mind what I do. Very few of my friends even blinked, and everyone is cool with it.

Most of the people I know, know what I do. When it comes to granny et al., I basically just say that I am the Director of Sales for a Marketing company. I think that over the years they have figured it out, but just haven't said anything.

My family knows what I do, as do my friends. I don't lie about it. If someone finds out I'm a photographer and asks what kind of photography I do, I tell them "I do girlie photography," which is what it is and should be to anyone who's comfortable with it.

I don't call it "pornography," because that is a pejorative description literally meaning "pictures/writings of whores." It's a term that belongs to people who don't like it. It shouldn't be used self-descriptively by people in the industry. We are in the "adult entertainment industry" not the "porn industry" if you really want the industry to prosper.

When I was being interviewed for a position as a sr. engineer at jpmorgan, the interviewer asked me what i meant by webdesign in my resume and the statement "up to 80k hits a day." I told him the truth, that porn is the biggest industry on the net and that's how I learned to design/code. (Not that i was actually successful in it) He laughed at first but then respected me ever since
