Ok so I got the stupid idea of getting both of my ears pierced, get some bead rings in them. I have long blonde hair and i think it'll look somewhat cool. The question is, what is the common perception of a guy with things like this in his ears?

thats the going rate but hey you can do what you want. I had a friend who had heaps of earrings and he thought he looked cool, but he had a lot of people thing he was gay and gays would always feel him up at (straight) bars thinking he was gay.

Up until 2 years ago I had 8 in each ear and double nose rings, all done by myself over the years. Took most of them out for various reasons but I still have my left tragus loop and two lobe rings. I miss the rest sometimes.
