Maybe whoever it was just had a glitch for the day and had to 'flush through' the joins in one big batch ?? (hence them all appearing @ the same time)

Seen the workings of a new shave module for one of the big sponsors. Man ... that shit is fucking sweet! You won't be able to tell at all! Can even hold signups in a 2-3 day lag, so that it can smooth out good/bad runs.

I think they shave according to productivity.

If your signups spend shitloads on the cams the shave switch is set to light. If you send tons of worthless signups it gets set to heavy.

I think the purge in November last year was largely unproductive affliliates... that's why they upped the signups from $20 to $25 (for first 10 SU's) in December last year.

Dude, how do you know you haven't been shaved? Unless you run their billing, you have little way to know.

The shave modules in some stat/accounting systems are very clever. All of the big guys shave, and if you've been in the offices, had beers with the guys who own these companies, been involved in the programming, then you know that. It might only be a 5% skim, a 'streak cut' (skimming a larger percentage off a good streak), or even a programmed ratio ... but it would be impossible to know don't you think?

Some of the best programs have true ratios you wouldn't believe. I know of two bighitters here who have ratios which would make you drool, and they simply 'shave' them back to slightly better than industry norms.

I am kinda curious as to how you know you haven't been shaved. If there is some way you can track it I would love to be able to utilize it myself

Like I said, I know they haven't shaved ME. This is due to my unique marketing that I have done with them and the fact that I have tracked over 5000 signups myself. If they were gonna shave don't you think I would miss a few out of 5000 signups? An affiliate I signed up to promote them also has over 3000 signups and no shave. She markets them a completely different way also and would have to know if someone signed up but she didn't get credit. The very few times this has happened she found out that they had registered to ifriends under the same credit card before in which case you don't get credit.

Now that I think about it though, I don't care if you jump ship so I am in no mood to give away a marketing idea that I know you aren't using and one that has made me money consistently for 2 years. If I were to give it to a webmaster with any sense they would be making money with it within the week. I have decided to keep my 1:20 to 1:100 conversions and take that comment out of my sig.

Have fun wondering. By the way, since you say you have sent test signups and been shaved then what does my experience have to do with anything? What would it matter if I wasn't shaved and proved it to you and you think that you were. Absolutely none.

I just hate people saying that shaving is an urban myth when I know for a fact that a large number of the big sponsors do. Seen it with my own eyes, seen the programming of the scripts and modules.
