    The US government did not supply Iraq with anything other than intelligence and money during the Iraq/Iran war (and we also supplied intelligence to Iran when the tide began to turn in favor of Iraq). Private enterprise sold them materials that had dual use and it was not intended by private enterprise for them to make weapons out of the materials supplied. When the government learned what private enterprise was selling to Iraq and learned what Iraq was doing with the materials being sold to them the Department of Commerce banned the sale of certain materials.

I am satisfied within my own mind that they have nukes. A member of the Knesset saying they have nukes is not the "government" proclaiming to have nukes, just as a member of the congress does not constitute the "government". I repeat, the Israeli government has never professed to having nukes, and neither government has ever suggested that the US has supplied Israel with nukes. A nuke is, of course, a WMD.

                                                                Apparently my thread has turned into a big war of it's own, and people are operating under the misconception I was doing anything but pointing out that since France was involved, whatever the degree of their involvement, things are going to get interesting because of it. In times of war, people like to find reasons and exploit reasons to be angry and make the other guy into the bad guy.. Now that France is involved on a more material level, things are going to get even uglier then they already are.

                                                                The USA has fucked up and provided weapons to many countries (Afganistan remember? The US is basically the reason Osama Bin Laden is who he is today), however, they are already involved in the war, whereas France has taken a "neutral" stance. Well wouldn't it make sense that they don't want the regime to fall if it means the loss of millions, probably billions of dollars they won't get paid for weapons?

                                                                                                                                                        I have to say, out of all the right wing bullshitters I've heard, theking is one of the best. His best weapon is his ability to make implications so that people reply, then state that the people were too dumb to understand that he meant something else. This is a great way to make the opponent look stupid without proving them wrong about anything and without saying anything to actually support your argument. Not a good way to flat out win an argument, but a good tool to get the masses on your side.
