My position is that hosted galleries are great, as long as you don't use too damn many photos. I have a lot of galleries, but intentionally use a very limited number of sets. I'm the last person who wants my content totally ruined for everyone.

Yes, lotsa big sposnors offering freehosted galleries but as usual their conversion sucks with the same fucking cookie cutter sites no matter how many hosted galleries they produce everyday. I'll sell you my topspot I know it doesn't convert for shit with my crappy traffic but you don't know that do you?

I'm with Martin on this one for sure.
Most of you posting on this thread just don't get it.
We're gallery builders, we build and submit galleries for a living. If you offer hosted galleries, then why would a TGP owner list our gallery and compete with himself for signups to the same program? So to say "we have them but you don't have to use them" or "just use our non hosted galleries" is totally missing the point.
I know they're good for TGP owners, its like found money, even if they only get 1 join a month that's money they didn't have before, and one less listing they have to worry about cheating them.
But I really wonder if they're good for the paysite owners who offer them? The 2 that I've talked to about them told me they didn't convert very well, just used a bunch of bandwidth. But with every TGP using them, and then those same TGP's trading traffic with each other, oversaturation and staleness was inevitable.
