hey, I live in the UK..it is conditioned into us to make fun of the French.
I am just saying what I have seen with my own eyes. We went to go find the grave of my friend's grandfather. I'm American, she is British and they treated us with so much respect and those graves were looked after so amazingly well.
I will forever have the image of the rows and rows of crosses from the WW2 graves and the WW1 stonges burned into my brain. Even more stunning when you were in the WW1 area and read the names and countries on the graves and then noticed that some graves were for more than one person. Too many people to burry, too little space.
So sorry if I am giving credit where is was due for something I saw with my own eyes rather than read in a paper or on a website. Well done the people of St. Omer!Comment
