Imo, depends on if this is a everyday car or weekend car. If a weekend car, i would probally do the yellow. However I would never want to drive a yellow car on a daily basis for a variety of reasons.
Black is a nightmare, don't do it.
The spiral gray is classy, great every day driving.
I also saw a bitchen blue that was rare if you can get your hands on it.
They don't buy them. That's the point. A lot of people just talk and talk and talk about all these cars and in reality they drive a civic.
A vette is a COMPLETELY different car than a 5series, which is also a nice car. They just serve completely different purposes. One is a boring point a to point b every day car. And the other is one you can put the top down on and go out and have some fun on a nice day. Two completely different cars built for two completely different purposes. Hardly comparable. Also, on a side note I like my X5 better than the 5 series
And a nicely equipped C5 convertible will run you about 55k, so you're right on that.

Got green? Hunter green would be sharp as hell on one, with a metallic undercoat.
Or purple with a pearl overcoat.
damn, choices, choices.

Have you priced new corvettes lately? I don't think a 50,000 dollar car is anything to be ashamed of. From a business perspective, you get the most performance dollar for dollar. You won't see that much of an improvement after spending 90,000 on a porsche.

Corvettes are great machines!
However, it isn't first on my list of goodies, either. It's on there, but not first. I want to start out with a nice Dodge Ram 1500 XLT, 5-speed, metallic green (Hunter).
Husband wants a 2003 Dodge Viper, Venom package. Black.
We're planning on a Jeep Wrnagler, removeable hardtop, hunter green/black.
Then the 'vette.

Really it's your personality... go with what you like...
Just a suggestion... If you get a brighter color you have to take into account other things like the tolerances between the panels... depends on the car... most people don't notice but the panel tolerance really gives that expensive car look that subconsciously lets you know that a 3000GT body is a piece of shit and that a Porsche is like a crafted jewel... if the panels don't match really tight, the brighter color shows it -- just take a look at this pic <img src="http://www.webmaster-post.com/98blue.jpg"> the panels don't even line up so like I was saying the (black) gaps between panels show up more with a brighter color... just like if you do woodworking -- you would never use black wood putty to fill in gaps for a lighter wood... also you got to figure in the hardware on most cars is black -- like vents, tires and mirrors and shit... some cars look really bad in brighter colors for this reason... especially for example on some Cameros where certain parts of the body are always black, even if the car is painted white -- this always looks like shit... If you get black, all the hardware usually matches the body, plus your wheels will stand out more because of the contrast with the body.

I know....
I own a 2002 Jaguar XK8 convertable, and a 2000 Volvo V70 station wagon... got the whole car spectrum covered there.....
I'm busting BV's balls over a Corvette. I always considered them a poor mans Porsche.

Obviously you have not driven a Porsche lately or priced one out.....
I HATE porsche's. They're a poor man's ferrari. (as stupid as what you said). The boxster is cheaper than the vette and has less performance. The Turbo 911 has a little more perforamnce for a lot more price. The non-turbo 911 is not worth it's price at all. I can't stand porsche's or their owners, who annoying and every one of them I have met has had an attitude. They also look like bubbles to me. I just don't like them. If I did like them, I'd own one
You liking porsche's doesnt suprise me tho. After all, you do own a volvo.

Wow,
Relax,, I?m sure you would own what ever car you want as long as you liked it?. Which is why I own what I own. When comparing an American car to a German car I fear the Germans will beat us every time, hence the ?poor mans Porsche? comment.
Amazing how piped up your getting over a Corvette, and me ribb?n BV over it.
I also own a Virago 250? That?s one step above a moped? does that surprise you?

I didn't mean to come off so pissy. That's one reason I like vette's tho. Owners will stick up for each other (we'll even stick up for future owners ) You can pull into a parking lot and another vette owner who may be driving his pickup will come running over to talk cars. Unlike porsche owners I know who just throw their nose up in the air to everyone (porsche and non-porsche owners) becuase they think their shit doesn't stink. Just obvservations I've made
And you're right, everyone has their preferences. Some people even like VW's.
I like some german cars, and I like some american cars. They all have their ups and downs. However I'm yet to find a japanese car I like.
Originally posted by Lensman I sold my Vette, so I went ahead and got this, they don't make them in Yellow.
I keep looking at them. Dunno if I'd want to trade in the vette tho or get one in addition to the vette when I finally decide to get one. Also, I'm always weary of first year cars. Is the driver's side heat problem as bad as it's made out to be? Maybe if they make a yellow one next year and the color works it'll push me over the edge
If you read the whole thread, you can figure it out
I saw the picture..but figured with the major slam against Porsche and Porsche owners..which I am one...that you must have an Enzo stashed away somewhere..Believe it or not..I actually do talk to other car owners even if they are driving something non-german..

Then you must not be a normal porsche driver I own a german car too, my X5, and I love it. I have nothing against german cars, Porsches just don't appeal to me.
