excuse me?
But it's all about the oil. That's what they keep saying. It's about the oil.
Now here you go saying it's all about the Jews.
Ok, it's about oil and it's about Jews. Let's nail it down this time once and for all. Before we go on is there ANYTHING else it's about or can we go with 'Jews and Oil' with some degree of confidence?
Now, is it 50% all about the Jews and 50% about oil? Or would you say 30% about oil and 70% the Jews? More? Less?I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!Comment

There is only one side and that Joe's Free Thinking Side.
You are with him or against him and if you are against him you will suffer the consequences.
What?s the matter Joe? Couldn?t take the heat in the other thread or did you just feel the need to spread you bullshit around to some other threads?Comment

Like many Fox News articles, its long on biased, fact free insinuations, and short on facts. For example..
Now, what exactly do they mean by "supports Fidel Castro"? Do they say that because IFCO supports ending the Cuban embargo? That is hardly supporting Castro. Do they mean the group really did support Castro by giving him money or something? No, because if they did you can bet would have said so. Insinuations, not facts."Not in Our Name is financed by the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization. I.F.C.O. is a million-dollar-a-year non-profit that supports Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and once sponsored a group headed by Sami Al-Arian ? the University of South Florida professor being charged with fundraising for terrorist organizations Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad"
Using that standard of evidence to establish "ties", the Bush adminsitration has "ties" to every right wing lunatic religious group on the planet. How often do you hear Fox News reporting *that*? Again, insinuations, not evidence.A.N.S.W.E.R. is an offshoot of the International Action Center, which intelligence officials say is a front for the Worker's World Party. A.N.S.W.E.R. canceled a scheduled interview with Fox News but a worker in the Seattle field office acknowledged there are ties.
"There are some Workers World Party members in A.N.S.W.E.R.," said A.N.S.W.E.R. coordinator Jim McMahan
Most of the article consists of similar vague insinuations.. just specific enough that someone predisposed to right wing paranoia would draw the worst conclusions, yet not specific enough to contain any actual facts about the extent of the WWWP's financial support of peace protests
Notice how the Bay Area anti-war Veterans group gets mentioned.. but only 3/4 the way down the article, and never as a supporter of the movement, which they most certainly are.Last edited by Gutterboy; 03-30-2003, 09:24 PM.Comment

News is supposed to consist of reporting facts, not polemic. Bad news will mix facts and polemic. That article took it to a whole other level by trying to convince the reader that polemic is fact.Originally posted by DavePlays

You may be unable or unwiling to discern between the two, thats fine. Just so we know where you stand.Comment

Right - I'm the one standing here saying there are two sides to every story - and it's been a few decades since national or world news was not been "editorialized" to one degree or another. They ALL do it - you might not notice if you are hearing only what you want to hear.
I watch CNN, FOX, NBC, and BBC and read the local paper. There are two TVs on here all day long. You might try getting a little variety of news yourself - there REALLY are two sides to the story.Comment
