Ya it was profitable, alot of things are when you have resources of venture capital. God I cant remember the figures off hand but for us to be successful in mainstream with a golf product we needed six figures. Maybe adult would be different. I know of a few infomercials that were dirt cheap and didnt do to bad. My buddy knows the guys from triple-edge wiper blades one of the originals and those fucks are still reaping rewards.Comment

I was not reffering to video sale's per say, although it would be incorperated.I agree capital and repetition would be key.Girls gone wild has done both the commercial, and the infomercial.
Make a reality based web site, ala Girl's Gone Wild Live Soriety House, type of concept (obviously not that name).
Maybe cross breed it with two free video(s), one sent on the online join date, the other is sent on their reoccuring date if they do not cancel(maybe a meet the girls video).
They sign up to your pay site. You make money of the site, you get reoccuring if they stay on, this makes the product that much more valuable on a infomercial basis.
Here is the awesome part. You get this massive traffic from the infomercial as well, EVEN if they don't sign up, you make bucks off of the massive traffic.

you could market it in the exact same manner as a Girls Gone Wild spot. I would imagine most have internet these days in targeted area(s). Also, television can brand a url or name unlike any other forum.
You could also approach this concept as this;a free week, month, etc. with your video. Still getting them to sign up and taking a crack at reoccuring, also branding the url and capture
